Danny Boy Cadogan grew up and lived in hatred, violence, and betrayal. His father was a gambler. He buried himself in debt in game of cards. He was an irresponsible father leaving his family in the hands of the Murrays, the debt collectors. Danny Boy Cadogan, being the eldest son, took upon his shoulders the responsibility his father ought to carry.
