La Union and Vigan Part 1: Two of the most visited places in the north

Image
These two have been on my list of must-visit places in the Philippines since I set foot in Manila that was 2014, but only on January 27 and 28, 2018 that I get to visit them. Finally, I could tick them off my list. Yahoo!!! Achieved!!! One of my travel resolutions is to explore more of the Philippines. It would be a shame that as a Filipina, I didn’t get to see for myself the many beautiful places which attract so many tourists around the globe. I thought I needed a long weekend or several days to visit these places, but no, a weekend is enough. Probably, I haven't explored the whole place but the weekend I spent was worth it. What I love the most from this trip was the photos I took which were worth uploading on Instagram. I will share the photos down below.  Actually, it was only a side trip as this was not the reason why I decided to go to La Union and Vigan. My friend had a passport appointment in San Fernando, La Union because the DFA offices in Metro

Thoughts #4: My First Longchamp Bag... authentic?

Image
my first Longchamp Neo Medium :) I have been thinking of writing a post about my first ever Longchamp bag that after a million thoughts and observations of people carrying LC bags, I finally decided to get one. I was smiling and beaming the whole afternoon of Wednesday and couldn't wait to go home to check every detail to make sure that I got the authentic one.  Prior to buying this, I visited Lazada's website countless times, read the customer's reviews, compared LC bags from different sellers, and observed people in the mall or in High Street carrying different LC bags, which color and size I liked the most and which one really suited me. Also, I often asked myself, "Do I really want it?" I have been trying to shake off the desire but it still lingered. What really made me decide to buy one was when I told my Japanese student about it, she got interested to get one too 'cause obviously it's cheaper from the one in the boutiques. However, she

Thoughts #3: I Shoes You ? I Shoes You Not.

Have you ever been suffering from mental anguish due to not giving in to your wants? You have been trying so hard to stop yourself from making that purchase because.. a. you don't need it b. it's beyond your budget  c. you still have other things you can use d. you can live comfortably without it I must concede that yes, I am guilty as charged. :(  However, I am happy and felt a sense of achievement that before the weekend ended I freed myself from the mental anguish I have been suffering since yesterday. It is all because of the grace of God. He freed me from unnecessary anguish.  Here's the story..  Yesterday afternoon I was strolling around High Street. When I went past Staccato (the picture above) I peeked and went in trying to check out if it has the pair of shoes I have been wanting to buy. Ohhh... to my surprise there is.. Here's the shoes that I wanted since I threw my worn-out-but-has-fully-served-its-purpose pair of Gibi shoes.

Thoughts #2: Missions Caravan 2017

Image
You might be wondering why my title is similar to 100 Tula Para Kay Stell a movie which has Tula #1 , and you're right. I got this idea from that movie. For those who haven't watched the movie, please do watch. It's a good movie. It reminds me of crazy college days and I wish I could turn back time. I enjoyed so much taking part in different school activities, sports club, performing arts theater, chess club, English Club and Math Club. Below is the picture of the movie and the link of the trailer. Check it out.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9E9cjs6Ai8 Credit to the owner. I grabbed the picture from google and the video from youtube. I don't own any of these.  Okey, now let's go back to #MissionsCaravan. It's an annual event held at Victory The Fort BGC, one of EN churches. This is held to give a progress report of the missions last year, the current year and the plans for next year. This is done to personally thank all who support the missions in wha

Thoughts #1: What Should I Blog?

Image
I watched Julia and Julie while having lunch. Now, my desire to blog has come back. But I don't know what to blog. Actually, I have a blog on wordpress. If you want to check it out here's the address: mycoffeeshopstories.wordpress.com. I do have several posts there, but it has been quite awhile since the last time I posted. :(  I am also thinking of the title of my blog. For now I will use 'Wanders and Wonders.' I hope this will do for the meantime, but honestly I like it. I am just worried if the title would fit the content of my blog.  What do you think, guys? What should I blog? How often should I post? Please comment down below. I will appreciate your ideas. Happy reading!  That's all for today. Welcome to my first post on Blogger.  P.S.  Julia and Julie - a good movie for those who love cooking and writing. Check it out. :)  The image is not mine. I just grabbed it from google. CTO.

The Reason Behind the Change

Image
Hello everyone. Welcome to 'my coffee shop stories.' I hope you all have a good day. For my new readers, thank you for visiting my blog. And, for my followers, thank you so much for your time reading my posts. My blog site is originally 'readsandtravels.' Then, one day it came to mind that the things I can share are only limited to books and travels. Thus, I came up with another name which is coffee shop stories. I love coffee shops, and so do other people. In the coffee shops, people can talk about anything under the sun - business meetings, random topics, school things, love life, problems, etc. This name would allow me to share a wide range of topics. Yeah, let's chat it away, guys!!! People, animals, and even the world go through CHANGE. It is needed. very much. What's the reason behind it? To grow. To become a better person. To reach one's goals. Every transformation goes through a painful process. There will be chaos. ruins. But it will lead  us to som

Backpacking: Insights and Lessons

For the millenials, backpacking is the 'in' thing. Many are raving about it - the excitement and thrill it brings despite the risk and physical exhaustion that comes with it. This doesn't mean that the current generation have more time for recreation than the previous one. It only means they really find time to make it happen despite the tight schedule their work demands.  The young professionals, who are trapped in a rat race and are overwhelmed with the mundane and drudgery of life, keep looking for some excitement and thrill. Therefore, many companies bring in some extreme sports to the market. And for those who are into learning different cultures, the travel and tourism industry provide affordable hostels for backpackers and tourists alike who are looking for budget-friendly accommodations. That's what business can do. Thanks to them, we don't need to be rich to be able to experience the life in the other side of the world. It's my first time to go backpack
